Award ceremony postponed

Tuesday, 23rd June 2020

The award ceremony of the Golden Globes 2021 was postponed to February 28th due to the pandemic. The scheduled day previously was the first Sunday in the month of January. Now the award session will take place on 28th of February, the HFPA stated.

The Oscars, last week, were pushed from February 28th to April 25th. According to The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, this would help filmmakers complete their films as the production was halted globally as a result of the pandemic and theatre closure.

Very soon, the eligibility criteria and further more details will be announced for Golden Globe nominations by the HFPA, it said. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, comedians, will be hosting the Golden Globes, delivered in Beverly Hills at a boozy supper.

Other award shows have postponed their events for 2021 as a result of Covid-19 outbreak.
