The number skyrockets!

22,752 fresh cases have been reported in 24 hours until Wednesday morning with a death toll of 482. Now the number of total cases in India has hit 7.4 lakh. In total, there are 7,42,417 cases according to the Union Health Ministry, and a total of 20,642 deaths.
2,64,944 cases are active and 4,56,831 have recovered according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare report.
Maharashtra is still the worst-hit state with 2,17,121 Covid-19 cases with the virus claiming 9,250 lives. The second on the list is Tamil Nadu with 1,18,594, followed by Delhi with 1,02,831 cases.
There has been a sharp rise in the number of cases everyday in India. In just 4 days, the number has increased from 6 to 7 lakh. India stands in third position for worst-affected countries, below the US and Brazil.
