Sandwiches are an all-time favorite breakfast staple for all Indians these days. Though it is a Western incorporation, it is actually ruling the heart of many Indians in the recent times. Sandwiches may be grilled or may be lightly toasted. They are light, dry and undoubtedly hunger satiating. When a stuffing is placed between two bread slices, the food that we get is called ‘sandwich’. When you are famished or may be, in a hurry, grabbing a sandwich is perhaps the best thing you could do for your hungry tummy. You can take sandwiches at breakfast, at tea or even hour of the day or night…therein rests the versatility of the food item.

 

You could choose your fond ingredients for the sandwich stuffing. And if you are a non-vegetarian what could be more exciting than a cream cheese chicken sandwich...Would you love to give it a try?

 

Well, it is a very simple recipe and you can prepare it just anytime.  A sandwich packed with fresh succulent bits of chicken and loads of luxurious cheese cream is indeed a heaven on earth. Try it, experience it and speak for it!

 

Ingredients:

  • Boneless chicken (400 grams)
  • Finely chopped Onion (1/2 cup)
  • Finely grated Garlic & Ginger
  • Chopped fresh Coriander (3 tbsp)
  • Cream Cheese (225 grams)
  • Chopped Green Chillies (3 chillies)
  • Bread slices (8 slices)
  • Black Pepper powder (1/4 tsp)
  • Coriander powder (1/2 tsp)
  • Cumin powder (1/2 tsp)
  • Vegetable Oil (3 tbsp)
  • Salt to taste

 

Cooking Steps:

  • Place a wok on medium flame & add vegetable oil to it. Let the oil heat up. Then add the chopped onion. Sauté until the onion turns translucent.
  • Next add the chopped green chillies, grated ginger-garlic and also add the chicken slices. Stir fry and cook for nearly 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the spice powders and add salt to taste. Mix well
  • Add little water, cover and cook on medium flame for about 5 minutes. Before turning the flame off make sure that the chicken slices are tender and well cooked and the consistency is just right enough for the ‘stuffing’
  • Transfer the cooked chicken to a container. Once it has cooled down, add chopped coriander and cream cheese to the preparation. Mix well.

 

Place the stuffing in between two slices of bread...follow the same for the other slice pairs too.
