Ayodhya is soon to have one of the world’s largest temples dedicated to Hindu deity Lord Rama. This proposed Ram Mandir will include few changes in plan with regard to the model of the existing temple and is likely to be the 3rd Hindu temple in the whole of the world in terms of its largeness. Mahant Kamal Nayan Das of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust informed while talking about the new proposed temple. Though the Trust has agreed to make few changes to the existing temple’s model, it has also decided not to change the temple’s basic design.
The two sons of Chandrakant Sompura, the chief architect of the project will be involved in preparing the new temple’s design. His two sons, namely Ashish Sompura and Nikhil Sompura are architects too and are working dedicatedly on this project.
“The architects have presented a rough sketch of the new layout before Mahant Nritya Gopal Das,” said the Mahant.
The width of the new temple is likely to be around 270-280 ft while previously it was 140 ft. The length of the new temple is likely to be around 280-300 ft while previously it was 268 ft. The height will be increased from 128 ft to 161 ft.
