CDR reveals an explosive fact on the Hathras case
Thursday, 8th October 2020
Investigators investigating into the Hathras gang rape case have made an explosive claim very recently. They have informed that they have with them the evidence to prove that the primary accused in this case was regularly in touch with a family member of the rape victim's family until quite recently.
Quoting the call detail records (CDR), the police sources revealed on this Tuesday that there had been a minimum of 100 exchanges across the last five months between the primary accused and the victim’s brother. A check on the call records has showered light on this fact.
The CDR that TOI has shows more than five hours of telephonic exchange between the two phone numbers- one of the primary accused and another of the victim’s brother, in the time period between the month of October in 2019 and the month of March in 2020. Some of those calls have continued for more than a couple of minutes. Police is planning to get the victim’s brother’s response in this matter.
Senior officers of the police who wanted their names to go undisclosed reported that a probe by SIT was under way still and at this point of time it’s not feasible to make any comments on this matter. However, they informed that soon a police investigation will start based on the CDR obtained.
Another police spoke to the TOI revealing that at the time of the probe, some local villagers too had said that those who were arrested maintained ties with the family of the victim.
