While describing the achievement of 33-ball & 73 Not-out of team member AB de Villiers Virat Kohli, Captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore said on this Monday that it was a ‘superhuman’ effort indeed. While Villiers came out with flying colors all other batsmen had to struggle hard and were appalled by the dry pitch of Sharjah. The achievement of Villiers, according to Kohli, definitely indicated an extensive win against the Kolkata Knight Riders.

RCB managed to register a huge 82-run winning score due to the impressive batting pyrotechnics applied by Villiers. The spin ball duo comprising of Washington Sundar (2/20) and Yuzvendra Chahal (1/12) was a challenge however. It was that duo that had played a pivotal role in causing the shift of Kolkata Knight Riders to a score of 112 runs for 9 and with 195 runs as target.

"This pitch was drier. And the day was pleasant so we thought there would be no dew. Barring one superhuman, every batsman struggled on the pitch. The talk was around getting 165, but we got 194 you know exactly why. It was unbelievable," said Kohli during the after-match presentation.

"I thought I had a few balls under my belt, and I might start striking. He (de Villiers) just came in and struck the third ball, and said he felt good. You might see a lot of people do what is done in other games, but only AB can did what he did. It was a fabulous knock."

Kohli, who stayed not out at 33 runs against 28 balls, said that it is but the genius and skills of de Villiers that had allowed the team to leap to 194 runs for 2.

"I was happy we could string together a partnership (of 100 runs), and mine was the best seat to watch from."

"It is a tremendous win against a very strong side. Heading into a busy week for us, it was important to start off well. The bowling unit looks that much more potent with Chris Morris coming back," said Kohli while talking about the victory.
