Nitish Kumar to take oath in alliance with 2 deputies from BJP
Monday, 16th November 2020
Nitish Kumar to take his oath as Bihar’s CM for the 4th political tenure today but the poll results this 2020 has downgraded him to a second position in the ruling political alliance and thus, he is likely to function in alliance with two deputies from the BJP Party instead of just one, said the sources. Also, the BJP party is likely to hold the designation of speaker in the assembly.
The decision pertaining to the oath taking was taken reportedly at a meeting that took place in the late hours of the night between renowned Bihar BJP party leaders and Nitish Kumar.
Tarkishore Prasad as well as Renu Devi may be appointed as the new Bihar deputies to the CM. Mr. Prasad, aged 64 years, has been named as the BJP Party leader already. Renu Devi, who had been MLA 4 times said, when asked about the reports said that she would be abiding by the orders of the party. Sushil Kumar Modi had been Deputy CM to CM Nitish Kumar for a large part of the 15 years ruling term but now he will probably be made a minister of the Union Ministry.
With the Janata Dal United party of Nitish Kumar securing far fewer political seats than BJP which had so long been the 2nd fiddle in the state of Bihar, the big changes were pretty inevitable, said the sources.
"The BJP and the Sangh Parivar gave me so much in the political life of 40 years. I will discharge the responsibility that will be given to me. No one can take away the post of the party worker," Mr Modi tweeted yesterday.
