Shilpa Shetty Takes to Social Media to Share Cute Photos as Daughter Samisha Turns 1

Shilpa Shetty’s daughter’s 1st B’day pics shared on social media by the actress mom

Daughter of Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty and husband Raj Kundra, Samisha Shetty Kundra has turned one on February 15. She was born to the couple via surrogacy in 2020.

The couple is proud parents to their seven-year-old son Viaan Raj but were also trying for a second child for five years. They said that after their firstborn they have wanted a second baby for the longest time. However, as Shilpa suffered from an autoimmune disease called APLA, it wreaked havoc on each occasion that she tried to get pregnant this time around.

Shilpa’s condition brought about a few miscarriages too. They consider the arrival of little Samisha as a blessing in their lives. 

The actress stated that she knows the value of having a sibling as she herself is part of a family where she grew up with one. Thus she said, she did not want her son to grow up as a single child. They even took a shot at adopting a child but the plan too failed as the missionary they chose closed down.

The couple had a long wait of nearly four years post that before they decided to give surrogacy ago. Here too, they were constantly having to go back disappointed until after three futile attempts, they finally had Samisha.

After the birth of her daughter, Shilpa introduced the little munchkin to the world through her social media handle where she wrote, “Our prayers have been answered with a miracle. With gratitude in our hearts, we are thrilled to announce the arrival of our little Angel. Samisha Shetty Kundra. Born on 15th February 2020 Junior SSK in the house.”

Shilpa also explained what the name of her daughter meant and why they chose to go with it. She wrote,” Sa’ in Sanskrit is ‘to have’, and ‘Misha’ in Russian stands for ‘someone like God’. You personify this name - our Goddess Laxmi, and complete our family.”

On the occasion of Samisha’s first birthday, Shilpa shared some adorable snapshots of the family on social media that instantly went viral.
