Actor Shahid Kapoor is likely to make his debut in the digital world through a web series to be released on Amazon Prime Video, joining several other renowned names of the B-Town industry who are gradually taking to that medium due to its increasing popularity. The drama thriller is still untitled and is being created by Krishna DK and Raj Nidimoru has known distinctly for the celebrated thriller series on Amazon, ‘The Family Man’, and Hindi movies like Go Goa Gone.

Shahid Kapoor is an incredibly gifted actor and we are excited to have him join the Prime Video family with a brand-new exciting collaboration with Raj and DK," said Vijay Subramaniam (Head and Director, content, Amazon Prime Video, India) in a statement.

Shahid Kapoor, as the news is, was hunting for an opportunity to work with these directors and at last, the opportunity came!

"I couldn't think of anyone better for my digital debut than them. Amazon Prime Video is a fabulous service and it's a privilege to work with them. I loved the story idea when I first heard it and since then it has been an exciting ride so far! Can't wait to share this series with the audience," said Shahid in a statement.

Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK stated that the show is themed on their "favorite script" and described the show as their ultimate labor of love. "We found a perfect match in Shahid. He was always our first choice for this series. We hit it off immediately, and have been on the same page from the first time we spoke. Shahid is an exciting actor to watch and work with! The intensity he brings to his roles is amazing," said the duo in their joint statement.

The series is the duo's first collaborative venture with Shahid Kapoor, who last appeared in 2019’s hit movie Kabir Singh. Shahid's movie credits also consist of other critically-acclaimed as well as popular movies like Padmaavat, Haider, Kaminey, and Jab We Met.
