7, 285 sq ft of land has been bought by the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra just beside the premises of the Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya. This purchase has been made in accordance with the scheme of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra to expand the complex area of the temple to about 107 acres. The area, at present, stands at 70 acres. This information was conveyed this Thursday by a Trust official. To buy this extra land the Trust has made a payment of Rs 1 Crore to the landowner at the rate of about Rs 1373 per sq ft, said the official further.

"We have purchased the land as we need more space for the Ram temple," stated trustee Anil Mishra while conversing with PTI.

The land bought by the temple trust falls adjacent to Asharfi Bhawan.

The owner of the land Deep Narain registered a deed for the land of 7,285 square feet in the favor of trust secretary, Champat Rai, on the 20th of February with witnesses like Anil Mishra and Indra Pratap Tiwari, the Apna Dal MLA. The same was reported by S B Singh, Faizabad sub-registrar in whose office this deed was actually signed.

"I was fortunate to be part of the first purchase deed of the Ram Mandir trust," Tiwari remarked.

As per sources, it is the plan of the trust to get some more extra land. In this regard, the Trust is involved in discussion with the temple owners, owners of open land, and houses lying adjacent to the complex of the Ram mandir.

According to sources, the trust needs to acquire about 14, 30,195 sq ft of land more to reach its target of 107 acres for the temple area complex.

The main lord Rama temple is likely to be constructed on the five acres of land while the rest of the land will be utilized for developing various types of facilities, including a library and museum.
