PM Modi Ji expressed his desire to get into "cordial relations" with our neighboring country Pakistan but he also stressed at the same time that for that to take place in reality, an "environment of trust" which is "devoid of terror" is actually "imperative".
In his letter addressed to the PM of Pakistan, Imran Khan on the National Day of the country, Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi ji wrote, "As a neighbouring country, India desires cordial relations with the people of Pakistan. For this, an environment of trust, devoid of terror and hostility, is imperative."
The letter turns out to be the 2nd of the consecutive messages conveyed by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji to Imran Khan, his Pakistani counterpart across a span of just a couple of days.

Last week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed a wish to the Pakistan PM Imran Khan for the latter’s "speedy recovery" soon after the PM of Pakistan had tested Covid positive.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi further conveyed his "best wishes" to Pakistan, our immediate neighbor in its battle to deal with the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
"Excellency, at this difficult time for humanity, I would like to convey my best wishes to you and the people of Pakistan for dealing with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic," wrote Indian PM Narendra Modi Ji.
On this Tuesday, Pakistan, our neighboring country, observed its 70th National Day. Each year, Pakistan celebrates this day on the 23rd of March in order to commemorate 1940’s 'Lahore Resolution' and the adoption of Pakistan’s first Constitution at the time of the transition or gradual switching over of the Dominion of Pakistan into the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, thereby transforming the country to the first Islamic republic of the world.
"On this Pakistan Day, we pay homage to the founding fathers of Pakistan whose services and sacrifices led to the creation of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent," stated Dr. Arif Alvi, the Pakistan President
The National Day of Pakistan is celebrated as a national holiday in our neighboring country Pakistan.
As per the info conveyed by the government sources, this was but a routine letter sent to the neighboring country each year.
On Monday, a team of delegates, chiefly the officials from Pakistan had reached India for a permanent Indus Commission convention. This, in fact, is the first of such dialogues between India and Pakistan across a span of the last 2 & ½ years and more.
Harsh Vardhan Shringla, the Foreign Secretary claimed last week that India wishes for good ties with the neighboring country Pakistan, and is totally committed to addressing any type of issue in a bilateral manner but also added that only a conducive atmosphere could pave the way for any sort of meaningful dialogue that could lead up to the good ties India is hoping to establish.
Further, he stated that it is Islamabad’s responsibility to create that much-needed atmosphere of brotherhood and tolerance.
