Virat Kohli, the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), has been "reprimanded" for violating the Indian Premier League's Code of Conduct during the IPL 2021 match against SunRisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, according to a statement released by the IPL. Kohli was dismissed for 33 runs off 29 balls by Jason Holder on Wednesday, and as he walked off the field, he hit an advertisement cushion on the boundary before whacking a chair in the team's dugout with his bat. Kohli admitted to Level 1 offence 2.2, "Abuse of cricket equipment or clothes, field equipment, or fixtures and fittings during a Match."
"Mr Kohli confessed to breaking the IPL's Code of Conduct's Level 1 offence 2.2. The Match Referee's decision is final and binding for Level 1 Code of Conduct violations "In a statement, the IPL said.
In another nail-biting match in Chennai on Wednesday night, RCB came out on top.
SRH seemed to be cruising to victory, needing just 150 points to win. SRH had built a commanding position thanks to an 83-run partnership between skipper David Warner and Manish Pandey.
When Shahbaz Ahmed took three wickets in an over, taking Jonny Bairstow, Manish Pandey, and Abdul Samad, the match was turned on its head.
SRH went from being 96/1 to 123/6 in a flash, and things didn't get any better after that as the RCB bowlers put the squeeze on the opposition.
SRH had a glimmer of hope when Rashid Khan hit a pair of lusty punches, but Harshal Patel held his nerve in the final over to seal the game for RCB.
