Match 11 of IPL 2021 proved a big one for the Delhi Capitals as they could beat the Punjab Kings

The Delhi Capitals took on Punjab Kings in Match 11 of the ongoing Indian Premier League, 2021 on Sunday, April 18 at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
After Sunday’s match, DC posted their second win so far this season, with a flourish as they thumped the Punjab team’s bowlers to make it to the 196-run target with ease.
Ppeners Prithvi Shaw (32 runs off 17 balls) and Shikhar Dhawan (92 runs off 49 balls) scored their runs at the start of the innings at a quick rate giving the team a strong opening in their chase of the 196-run target.
Marcus Stoinis (27 runs in 13 balls) and Rishabh Pant scored six and boundaries against legendary bowlers like Riley Meredith and Mohammed Shami.
PBKS, despite putting up a seemingly tough score on the board, failed to to put a check on the rising run-rate. The Delhi team finished the game with an over remaining. After this victory, DC has secured the second position in the points table while PBKS has tumbled down to the seventh.

Punjab Kings’ bowlers were daunted by the pressure as Shami and Meredith gave away important runs in the middle overs which snatched the game out of their reach completely. On the Delhi side, Shaw, Dhawan, Pant, Stoinis all contributed their bit to help the team beat the 196-run target, getting them their second win of the League. They were at 198/4 after 18.2 overs.
Player of the match, Shikhar Dhawan said, “It was a conscious effort from my side (to increase SR) and I started taking more risks. I'm not afraid of changes. I'm always open towards changes and I make sure I give it a good try in the nets and then in the games.”
Winning captain Rishabh Pant said he was enjoying his captaincy and that he likes “to keep the environment light so that people enjoy their cricket and make the most of their opportunities.”
Losing captain K L Rahul said, “ I think it would be fair [the ball changes every two overs, Doull's suggestions] and I'm not just saying that because I'm on the losing side. I did ask the umpires to change the ball a couple of times but that's not in the rules.”
