On this Sunday, Dr. Manmohan Singh had written a letter to the current Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, offering his advice on the covid pandemic situation. He urged the PM for permitting the states to define as well as demarcate the varied categories of the frontline workers who require receiving the vaccines against Covid-19 infection on a priority basis "even if they are below 45 years of age". Yesterday, the Union Government initiated the vaccinations against the deadly virus to all the adults commencing from the 1st of May, 2021.

Furthermore, he had urged the Central Government to place "enough" orders for the covid vaccines quite in advance so that no issues pertaining to dearth of vaccines arises. According to sources, our country is already battling against a shortage in the supply of covid vaccines with many of the states complaining that they were forced to close down the vaccination centers as they were lacking in sufficient vaccine doses.

His letter to the PM called forth a sharp and quick response from the Union Health Minister, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, who criticized the political party he represents and held it responsible for triggering the pandemic’s second wave. Our country, India has recorded an intensely scary spike of Covid cases across the past couple of weeks.
