The trailer of the Netflix movie ‘Sardar Ka Grandson’ has been released. Actor Arjun Kapoor is in the lead role in the movie. The other actors who share the screen space with actor Arjun Kapoor are Neena Gupta, Rakul Preet Singh, Aditi Rao Hydai, Soni Razdan, Divya Seth and John Abhraham. The movie is likely to be a pure family entertainer and has Kaashvie Nair and Anuja Chauhan as the director and scriptwriter respectively.  The movie tells the story of a grandson (played by Arjun Kapoor) who has just returned from the US and in order to fulfill the last wish of his grandmother makes up his mind to leave no stone unturned.

Neena Gupta plays the role of Sardar in the movie. She is the granny of Arjun Kapoor in the movie. She expresses her wish to go to her ancestral home situated in Lahore and wants her grandson to fulfill her wish. She promises to make her grandson her business’s owner provided he fulfills her wish. But, when he seeks permission to take his granny to Lahore, it’s rejected. So, he takes a decision…he moves his granny’s ancestral home to Amritsar. Even when the storyline of the movie is bizarre it would still prove to be an entertaining one possibly especially in these grave times when we are badly in need of substantial doses of laughter!

Prior to the trailer’s release, actor Arjun Kapoor shared an amazing video showing some heart-warming family photographs of the team of the movie. At the start of the video we get to a childhood photo of Aditi Rao Hydari where she poses with her mom. Next, comes Arjun Kapoor’s photograph. Bhusan Kumar, the producer of the movie, told the media that the family photo of his that is shown in the video was actually shared not by him but by his mom…hence, he couldn’t recall it initially. In this context, actor Rakulpreet Singh said, “The photo in the video is from the day when my father took me for my first swimming session. As I shared the photo with the Netflix team for this video, I realised how earlier these photo albums meant so much to us. Now, our memories are just lost in the gallery of our mobile phones.”

Actor Neena Gupta is quite excited to learn about the reaction of the audience to the role played by her in the movie. “This is a heartwarming story filled with lots of emotions and laughter. It’s the perfect family watch as you embark on a journey with my grandson as he fights all odds to fulfill my last wish. This is the first time I am playing a character like this one and I am excited to see how the audience reacts to it,” said Neena Gupta in a statement.

For Arjun Kapoor, getting to act in Sardar Ka Grandson was the most apt chance to work alongside an experienced and talented cast. “Working alongside such a talented ensemble cast was an enriching experience for me. We are hoping that the story will resonate with people across the globe with the raw & real emotions that it shows through a loving grandmother-son relationship,” said Kapoor in a statement.

The movie was shot in the midst of the pandemic last year. The movie was scheduled to be released for the theatre originally but the producer of the movie, Bhushan Kumar, decided for the movie’s digital release since he thought that “the film should reach the audience for whom it is made. The medium doesn’t matter.”

The movie has been produced under the banner of three production houses such as T-Series, John Abraham Entertainment and Emmay Entertainment.
