The Covid tally in the state of Karnataka has gone beyond 14 lakhs while the numbers of active covid cases in the state have gone beyond the 3 lakhs mark with 31, 830 new infections reported in the state on this Tuesday, informed the State’s Health Department. 180 deaths have occurred in state taking the covid triggered death toll to nearly 14, 807, the department further informed.

As per the health department bulletin, the cumulative COVID-19 cases in the state of Karnataka currently stood at about 14, 00,775, while the number of active Covid cases in the state being 3, 01,899 including the 2,063 cases admitted in ICUs. Until Tuesday the number of cumulative discharges in state stood at 10, 84,050

Of the net 3 lakh active covid cases in Karnataka, 2, 06,223 cases are from Bengaluru Urban district alone. The city of Bengaluru has contributed to over 50% of the cases in the span of a day and even in terms of the per-day mortalities with about 17,550 new covid infections and about 97 deaths on this Tuesday. So far, the city of Bengaluru has reported about 6, 87,751 covid infections and about 6,002 covid-triggered deaths.

1, 70,117 covid tests were done on this Tuesday including the 1, 51,631 by use of the RT-PCR and the other testing methods thereby taking the net number of tests done until now to about 2.51 crore, added the department. More than 90 lakhs of people got their vaccines so far, it reported. (PTI)
