Working on one's core is one approach to promote good gut health, which is incredibly important for general well-being. A good core can be built by one's training regimen, in addition to healthy eating. If you practise yoga, Mandukasana, or frog position, which focuses on the navel centre, can help you overcome any weakness in your body while also providing additional benefits.
We recently spotted actor and fitness aficionado Shilpa Shetty Kundra practising the asana.
“The major source of energy for all kinds of healing processes originates from the heart of our being. As a result, Mandukasana is a highly significant asana because it focuses on your navel core, which is also your life-force centre, also known as the second brain. It has the ability to give you the energy to combat all weaknesses. That’s why they say, ‘go with your gut feeling’,” she said.

Why Mandukasana?
Mandukasana is a yoga pose that helps with digestive problems and constipation. This pose increases the flexibility and suppleness of the knee and ankle joints while also toning the shoulder and abdominal muscles. Regular practise improves lung capacity as well.
“In challenging circumstances like these, we need to focus on ourselves so that we can remove any negativity and bring in positive energy to the Manipura chakra,” Shilpa stated.
How to do it?
*Take in a deep breath and exhale while going down, stretching the spine and pressing on the navel.
*You will feel the Energy flow to your solar plexus.
*Focusing on your navel will help open your mind and reduce blood sugar levels as it works on the pancreas.
*It also helps improve the flexibility and mobility of the knee and ankle joints. Moreover, the frog pose helps reduce fat from thighs, belly, and hips.
Contraindications
People with knee, ankle, and back pain issues should avoid this asana.
