Manchester City is all set to commence their Premier League title defence on August 14 and as per the fixture list for this 2021-22 season that was out on Wednesday, the team will make its way to Tottenham Hotspur for the opener.

On opening day, while Liverpool will play the recently promoted Norwich City, Manchester United will host old rivals Leeds united on the same day at Old Trafford.

In a Twitter post, Manchester City wrote, "Our 21/22 @premierleague fixture schedule in full! Ready to go again?"

Word is going around that Spurs striker and England skipper Harry Kane may choose City to side against his boyhood club during the opening weekend.

Meanwhile, the winner of the Champions league last season, Chelsea, will start the new season back home to Crystal Palace and then head on to Arsenal and Liverpool for later matches.

Last season, Pep Guardiola's side took the champions title away by a wide berth of 12 points ahead of foes Manchester United.

Although last season had seen fans kept out of the grounds during the two tough clashes, both of which were played behind closed doors, this time hopes are high of a considerable amount of crows gracing the stadiums for the upcoming season.

Part of the UK governments experimental scheme involves opening up the grounds to a crowd of 40,000 to witness the Euro 2020 semi-finals and final at Wembley next month.

Arsenal is ready to kick start their campaign at Brentford who will, for the first time in over seven decades will participate in the top rungs of English football.

After staying away from the game for more than a year, Watford will make its return this season of the Premier League and will host Aston Villa in their first game.

For television viewers, all fixtures are still open to alterations. Several meetings are slated in the days to come between the 'big six'.

As of now, the schedule suggests a big reverberation of the Champions League final as the Blues host Manchester City on September 25. The third weekend of the season will see Liverpool host Chelsea.
