Fans of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) have good reason to celebrate as Krafton, the developer of the game announced today an upcoming launch of the beta version of the game.

The South Korea-based tech giant Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile, which was banned in India by the Indian government on grounds of certain security issues, said they are back in India, this time with an upgraded look.

PUBG Mobile took to their official Twitter handle to make the announcement where they released the first look of the Battlegrounds Mobile India 'Beta version' on Thursday, and also let in select Android users early access to the game.

Fans who are desperately waiting for the Battleground Mobile India Beta version can download it for early access on the Google Play store.

Users will be required to go to their 'Android settings' and then click 'Safety and Privacy'. They will then need to select 'Allow Installation from Unknown Sources. Once this feature is activated, you can go on to directly download the APK file. Although the final version is not yet released officially by the developers, once the same is done, you will continue to have your in-game progress saved.

Meanwhile, a point that needs to be noted is that the Beta version is available for logging in subject to an OTP authentication. Hence, users will be required to enter a 'verify code' or a one-time password to have a login on their phones.

In case you are unable to log in, it could mean the slots are already full after the release of the Battleground Mobile India Beta version. What you can then do is keep an eye out for the release of further slots that will be set afloat from time to time in the days to come. iOS users have a slightly longer wait. According to the firm, new updates will be released shortly.

As per Krafton, sufficient care has been taken to launch the BGMI in compliance with Indian laws and regulations and is unlikely to meet the same fate as the PUBG ban. The company has also confirmed that PUBG would no longer be authorized by Chinese firm- Tencent Games in India.

Rumours have it that the Battleground Mobile India release date is scheduled for June 18.
