Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee today criticized the BJP-led Central Government regarding their "efforts to control" the social media platform of Twitter and further claimed that the government at the Centre having been unsuccessful in influencing that micro-blogging website is now attempting to demolish it. Citing a parallel connection, Ms Banerjee added that her government was also treated in the same manner by the central government.
"I condemn it. They (Centre) can't control Twitter, so they are trying to bulldoze it. They are trying to do so with everyone they are unable to manage. They can't control me, and that is why they are trying to bulldoze my government, too," stated Mamata Banerjee.
One of the most popular social networking platforms ‘Twitter’ seems to have been thrown out of its "safe harbour" shield in the country due to its failure to comply with the IT rules as well as its failure to hire a chief personnel mandated in accordance with the new set of guidelines.

Now, Twitter is likely to be liable for its actions pertaining to the unlawful content belonging to the 3rd party and the platform would be answerable to the court for the same under the Indian Penal Code.
Brushing aside the allegations made by BJP of continual political disagreements and violence in West Bengal, the CM of the state, Mamata Banerjee retorted saying that it was but a political "gimmick" and that the claims put forward by the BJP are totally "baseless".
"There is no political violence going on in the state right now. There may have been one or two sporadic incidents, but those can't be labelled as incidents of political violence," said Ms Banerjee.
