Babil Khan, son of late actor Irrfan Khan, has stepped out of college to pursue acting full-time. On Monday, the aspiring actor made the revelation with a lengthy statement on his Instagram account.

Babil wrote in the post that he will miss his filmmaking classmates, who provided him "a home in a strange chilly environment." Babil also said his goodbyes to the University of Westminster, stating that he is dropping out of the Film BA programme after accruing more than 120 credits.

“I'm going to miss you terribly. My lovely companions. In Mumbai, I have a small network of pals, maybe two or three. You guys offered me a place to call home in a strange, cold area and made me feel welcome. I appreciate it, and I adore you. I'm dropping out of film school today with over 120 credits since I'm focusing solely on acting for the time being. Goodbye, Westminster University. My dearest pals, I adore you.” read Babil's work

Babil Khan will make his acting debut in Qala, a film directed by Anvitaa Dutt and produced by Anushka Sharma under her Clean Slate Filmz brand. Tripti Dimri and Swastika Mukherjee also star in the Netflix flick.

Babil also announced on Sunday that he has inked a deal for his second film, which will be directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Shoojit Sircar and produced by Ronnie Lahiri. Zayn Khan will also appear in the film.
