The story of P C Musthafa's success
P C Mustafa is an Indian entrepreneur and the CEO and Co-Founder of iD Fresh Food, an Indian food products firm.
The company now sells 2,000 packages of coriander and tomato chutney, 200,000 parathas, and 40,000 chapatis every day using the batter.
iD Fresh Food hired over 3000 young people to provide preservative-free and healthful Dosa and Idli batter, coriander and tomato chutney, chapatis, and parathas to millions of Indians on a daily basis.
Early Years of P C Mustafa
PC Mustafa was born into a poor family in Chennalode, a secluded village in Kerala's Wayanad district, a lovely state in south India.
His father worked as a coolie and earned a daily pay. His mother was illiterate. He was raised in a poor household in a small Kerala hamlet with only one school.
Career & Education
Mustafa was an ordinary student who excelled at mathematics. He had to walk a long distance to get to school. For some reason, he dropped out of school.
He dropped out of school after failing class 6 and went to work for his father as a daily wageworker.
Mustafa, on the other hand, returned to school later. Mustafa was forced to sit among his peers, and to to his teacher's amazement, he excelled in both classes 7 and 10.
His father lacked the financial means to pay for his higher education. Mustafa was one of 15 students at Farooq College in Kozhikode who were given free meals and a free stay in the dormitory.
Mustafa's command of the English language was limited. Every lecture is translated for Mustafa by a close friend. Mustafa was ranked 63rd in the state's engineering entrance exam.
Mustafa received acceptance at the Regional Engineering College. He graduated from the National Institute of Technology Calicut with a bachelor's degree in computer science.
The first stepping stone
Mustafa worked for Motorola at a salary of Rs 15,000 after graduating from NIT in 1995. He was moved to Ireland by Motorola, and he also worked for Manhattan Associates for a while.
He then went to work for Citibank in Dubai, earning a salary of one lakh dirhams. In Europe and the Middle East, he also worked with a number of multinational corporations.
In the year 2000, he married Sajna, an interior designer, and they now have three boys, ages 16, 13, and 9. Mustafa returned to Bengaluru in 2003 with a savings of Rs. 15 lakh.
