Dilip Kumar, the legendary actor, died this morning after a protracted illness, according to his family and physicians. He was 98 years old at the time.
Dilip Kumar, the 'tragedy king' to generations of moviegoers, had been admitted to the Hinduja Hospital's intensive care unit (ICU), a non-COVID-19 facility, since Tuesday. "He died away around 7.30 a.m. owing to protracted illness," said Dr. Jalil Parkar, who had been treating the actor.
"I announce the demise of our beloved Dilip Saab, who passed away a few minutes ago, with a heavy heart and tremendous grief. We come from God and return to Him "Faisal Farooqui, a family friend, tweeted from the actor's account.

In the previous month, the "Mughal-e-Azam" star had been in and out of hospitals, and his family hoped he would recover.
