Fighter, starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, will be India's first aerial action franchise, according to Viacom18 Studios.

The film stars Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone and is directed by Siddharth Anand. While making the official announcement, Viacom18 used their social media account to broadcast a video. "We're all set to lift the ante of your cinematic experience after a decade of entertaining you with songs that are close to your heart! Prepare to see @iHrithik and @deepikapadukone in India's first aerial action franchise #Fighter "they sent out a tweet.

"An aerial action picture delivers a unique Cinematic experience," Ajit Andhare, COO, Viacom18 Studios, said of the project. In India, it has never been done. As a fan of Top Gun, I've been seeking for a script with aerial combat and a plot set in India for years. Fighter is the solution. Siddharth understands the genre and gives his pictures a distinct flavour. I'm looking forward to working with him on the development of this franchise."

Siddharth Anand went on to say, "Fighter is a dream project for me, and I'm grateful to have someone with Ajit's vision on board. We hope that by releasing this picture, we will be able to put Indian films on the map for action-loving global theatregoers who crave spectacle and the big screen experience."

Designed with a global audience in mind Fighter will be exposed to the most cutting-edge equipment and filmmaking techniques. The film is expected to be shot in several locations around the world, but the plot is really Indian, honouring our armed services' valour, sacrifice, and patriotism.

Fighter will be produced by Marflix in collaboration with Viacom18 as a studio partner. According to reports, it's a blanket contract in which the studio owns practically all rights, from theatrical to internet to satellite. It is regarded to be the most significant financial transaction in the post-pandemic world.

For the first time in his career, Hrithik will play an air force officer in the film. The film will be released in India. The film, which was made in Hindi, will also be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.

After Hrithik finishes Vikram Vedha and The Night Manager, and Deepika finishes Pathan and The Intern, the film is expected to begin shooting in 2022.
