Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his deepest condolences on Monday for at least 16 deaths caused by lightning strikes in various areas of Rajasthan. "In some areas of Rajasthan, many people have been killed by lightning.
I am deeply saddened by the death of the people. I express my deepest condolences to the families of the deceased: PM @narendramodi," the Prime Minister's Office tweeted ( PMO) Say. Earlier on Sunday, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, announced that it would pay 500,000 rupees to the families of those killed by lightning in the state. It also ordered compensation for the wounded.
The Prime Minister previously expressed his deepest condolences to the families of people who lost their lives in the Kota, Dholpur, Jhalawar, Jaipur and Baran areas due to lightning strikes. At the same time, Jaipur Police Chief Anand Srivastava reported that 29 people were rescued from the Amer Fort area after being struck by lightning.
With the help of local people, we rescued about 29 people struck by lightning from the Amer Fort area. They were taken to the hospital. Of these, 16 have died ”, he added.
