Actor Vidyut Jammwal stated on Monday that he will work on an espionage thriller titled IB 71 with National Award-winning Telugu director Sankalp Reddy. Vidyut's banner Action Hero Films will make its first entry into production with this film. The film will be co-produced by Reliance Entertainment.
IB 71, in which Vidyut plays an intelligence officer, is believed to be inspired on a true storey. The film "recounts the tale of how Indian Intelligence Officers outwitted the whole Pakistani establishment and gave the Indian armed forces the required advantage to face a two-front war," according to the producers.
The narrative of IB 71, according to Vidyut Jammwal, appealed to both the actor and the producer in him. “IB 71 was inspired by some of the most fascinating moments in Indian history. Action Hero Films continues its quest to unravel a gripping storey envisioned by gifted writers with this film. In a statement, Vidyut remarked, "I have complete faith in Sankalp Reddy's vision as a director."
