The Haryana Government released orders on Sunday to further extend the lockdown in the state till July 26 to curb the spread of Covid-19 infection. The weeklong imposition will continue to be a partial one with the addition of night curfew that will be put in force on all days.

Night curfew will be put in effect every day from 11 pm to 5 am across the entire the state. Lockdown measures had been eased by the state government earlier this month. However, it has been imposed again despite the number of daily cases seeing a downward trend and a decline in the positivity rate, according to what the government mentioned in its order.

The order has been issued by Chief Secretary Vijai Vardhan and states, “The Mahamari Alert-Surakshit Haryana is extended for another week, that is from July 19 (5 am onwards) to July 26 (till 5 am) in the state of Haryana.”

The lockdown has been termed by the state, “Mahamari Alert-Surakshit Haryana (Epidemic Alert-Safe Haryana)”.

There have also been some relaxations in certain Covid-19 restrictions that have been allowed. Bars and restaurants including those in hotels and malls will be allowed to remain open from 10 am to 11 pm with a fifty per cent seating capacity. Home deliveries from hotels, restaurants and fast food joints will also be allowed until 11pm.

Gyms will also be allowed to open their doors from 6am to 9pm with a 50 per cent cap on capacity. Spas can operate at 50 per cent capacity from 6am to 8pm.

Club houses, restaurants and bars of the golf courses have been authorized to run from 10 am to 11pm with 50 per cent seating capacity as per the order.

Last week, the government had authorized social gatherings of a maximum of 100 people for weddings and funerals. The same could go up to 200 people if the function was held in an open area.

The state has not made much of an alteration in the guidelines for shops, offices and other activities and they continue to remain as they had been last week.

As per the order, all norms related to COVID appropriate behavior including masking in public places and maintaining social distancing must be adhered to strictly.
