Sharath Kamal of India won the table tennis men's singles round 2 with a 4-2 victory over Tiago Apolonia of Portugal. Kamal lost the first game, but came back to win an epic game and advance to the next round. Manika Batra, on the other hand, will look to build on her recent success in the women's singles third round. After winning earlier in the day, Indian fencer Bhavani Devi was defeated 7-15 by France's Manon Brunet in the Women's Sabre Individual Table Of 32. After underperforming in Tokyo thus far, Indian archers had a good day when the archery team of Atanu Das, Pravin Jadhav, and Tarundeep Rai defeated Kazakhstan 6-2 to advance to the men's team archery quarterfinals. Meanwhile, in the men's singles second round, Sumit Nagal will face Russian tennis star Daniil Medvedev. Following a loss to the Netherlands in their Olympic opener, India's women's hockey team will face Germany in Pool A. Aside from the aforementioned events, Team India will also compete in shooting, sailing, badminton, swimming, and boxing.
