Chhattisgarh, as we all know, is a land of temples, forts, and waterfalls. But, the many hill stations that Chhattisgarh has are not known to all. These hill stations make an ideal getaway from this city. Ambikapur, Chirmiri, Mainpat, Balia Dila, and Gadiya Mountain are a few of the most notable hill stations in Chhattisgarh. Here’s a list below:

Chirmiri

Chirmiri in Chhattisgarh falls in the state’s Koriya district. The hill station is often called the ‘Heaven of Chhattisgarh’. The hill station is characterized by verdant greenery, ancient temples, coal mines, and lots of natural beauty. The hill station has a salubrious climate too.

Gadiya Mountain

Gadiya Mountain is the highest in the state. It is referred to as Kila Dongri. It comes within the Kanker district. One of the key attractions in this region is the amazing Doodh River flowing along the foothills.

Ambikapur

Located in Chhattisgarh’s Surguja district, the hill station of Ambikapur is replete with thick woods and lofty hills. It’s an appropriate weekend getaway for the city dwellers. There are a few ancient caves and temples, spectacular waterfalls, and beautiful rivers in this part. The key attractions of this hill station are the Tamor Pingla Wildlife Sanctuary as well as the Semarsot Wildlife Sanctuary.

Mainpat

Mainpat, also referred to as Mini Tibet is cradled at an elevation of 1100 meters and is a charming hill station indeed. The hill station is dotted with several Tibetan refugee camps. Waterfalls and dense forests mark the natural beauty of the region. Many tribal communities such as Kanwar, Pahadi Korwa, and Manjhi Majhwar have their dwellings here.

Baila Dila

Perched at an altitude of 1276 m, Balia Dila is one of the most amazing hill stations in Chhattisgarh. It is located in the district of Dantewada. The hill station has a plethora of blessed sights and sounds and offers many green forested belts and waterfalls.
