Covid-19 Situation in Karnataka, 1,606 New Cases Recorded Along With 31 Deaths

Karnataka logged 1,606 fresh cases of Covid-19 on Monday taking the cumulative figures to 28, 96,163. The number of deaths recorded on the day was 31 which took the death toll in the state to 36,405.

There were 1,937 discharges during the day which makes the total number of recoveries from Covid-19 infections, 28,36,678.

Bengaluru Urban alone reported 467 new cases. The number of discharges of recovered patients here was 497 while the number of deaths was 3.

Total active cases in Karnataka now stands at 23,057. Of the 31 deaths reported, 4 were from Dakshina Kannada, Bengaluru Urban, Havri, 3 from each of Mysuru and Uttara Kannada, 2 from each of Belagavi, Kolar, Mandya and Vijayapura, followed by others.

After Bengaluru Urban, the other districts in the state that accounted for the maximum number of fresh Covid-19 cases were Dakshina Kannada with 357 infections, Mysuru with 162 cases and Udupi with 78 cases.

The highest number of positive cases has been recorded by Bengaluru Urban district which tops the list with a total of 12,25,227 infections. Close at its heels is Mysuru which has recorded 1,72,279 positive cases followed by Tumakuru with 1,17,525 cases.

Bengaluru Urban has also topped the list of the total number of discharges having recorded the 12,01,209 patients who recovered from Covid-19. It is again followed by Mysuru which recorded 1,68,431 discharges and then Tumakuru with 1,15,129 discharges.

The state as a whole has successfully completed the testing of a total of 3,79,66,095 samples. Of these 1,14,072 tests were conducted only on Monday.
