The men's hockey semi-final between India and Belgium got off to a frantic start, with three goals in the first quarter alone. Belgium scored from a penalty corner early in the game, but India responded with an equalizer from another penalty corner. The Manpreet Singh-led team then took the lead thanks to a brilliant reverse hit by Mandeep Singh.

Though India led entering the second quarter, the lead was short-lived as Belgium applied pressure with back-to-back penalty corners. The pressure paid off when Alexander Hendrickx converted a well-taken penalty corner to tie the game at 2-2. There were no goals in the third quarter, but Belgium took the lead with another Hendrix penalty corner to make it 3-2. A penalty stroke gave the Belgians a two-goal lead and Hendrickx a hat-trick for the first time in his career.
