When most stars only do one or two films a year, Akshay Kumar has a half-dozen films lined up for the coming year. The celebrity has nine confirmed projects in various stages of production, including eight films and one web series. Bell Bottom, Sooryavanshi, Atrangi Re, Prithviraj, Bachchan Pandey, Rakshabandhan, Ram Setum, Oh My God 2 and the web series The End are among them.
But that's not all. According to industry sources, Akshay has already given his blessing to at least a number of more films, with formal announcements expected soon. The remake of the popular Tamil psychological thriller Ratsasan is one of them (2018). Mission Cinderella is the working title for the remake. It will be directed by Ranjit Tiwari, who earlier directed Bell Bottom, and will star Rakul Preet Singh.
According to a source, the actor intends to begin filming in London for the project. “During the pandemic last year, the actor was one of the first to finish an entire film when he opted to go to Glasgow and London and finish the entire shooting of Bell Bottom. Kumar has agreed to shoot Mission Cinderella in London once more, and has even set the dates."
According to the source, pre-production work has already begun, and the team is currently in London for a recce, with plans to recreate Shimla. “The film is set in Shmila, and the crew is looking for a site that looks like the hill station. Kumar will play a cop in the film, thus the production design team will recreate Shimla police station in London, as well as a few other locations."
It's also thought that the actor was behind the decision to shoot the film in London. “We still have a lot of restrictions in India. In London, on the other hand, everything has opened up and there are virtually no limitations. All relevant protocols will be followed by the team. All of the actors' schedules are set, and the production will run from beginning to end. "The UK government is also providing them with a lot of subsidies, which is an added benefit to the team," the source said.
Kumar is busy handling Bell Bottom promotional and Bachchan Pandey filming. After that, the actor will fly to London for Mission Cindrella before beginning production on OMG- Oh My God 2. ?
