The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will operate the Onam Special Bharat Darshan train from Madurai from August 15 to 26. The cost of the 12-day trip is reportedly around 12,000 Indian rupees (including excise tax).
The train will reportedly depart from Madurai, passing the Statue of Unity, Goa, Delhi, Jaipur, Hyderabad, and Agra. The 4,444 passengers on board will have the opportunity to visit Goa's iconic beaches, Jesus Cathedral, the Lotus Temple, Qutub Minar, India Gate, Raj Ghat and Murti Bhavan, Indira Gandhi's memorial child from Delhi, the Kaivadia Unity Statue, and the Ah Gera Fort and the Taj Mahal Agra. . In addition, passengers can also visit Hyderabad's Charminar, NTR Gardens, Golconda Fort and Lumbini Park or Ramoji Film City.
At the same time, IRCTC stated that visits to all attractions will be subject to COVID-related restrictions and guidelines issued by state governments. Passengers will reportedly be able to travel from Trivandrum Central, Madurai, Kottayam, Kolam, Ernakulam Town, Choranur Jn, Trisur, Kannur, Kozhikode, and Casa Gold boarded the train. Indian Railways also advises passengers to strictly comply with COVID19 regulations when traveling.
In addition, the train drop-off points will be Renigunta Jn., Jolarpettai, Katpadi Jn, Erode Jn, Salem Jn, Podanur Jn, Ottapalam, Palakkad, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kollam Jn, Kottayam, Trivandrum Central, Madurai, and Tirunelveli.
