Delhi Reported 0 Covid Deaths for the Third Time in a Week

Delhi logged 66 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours taking the cumulative figures to 14,36,761. While the total number of recoveries are more than 14.11 lakh, the number of deaths recorded on Sunday is 0, the third time in a week that the national capital recorded nil deaths. 

The total number of fatalities reported so far is 25,066. At the moment the city has 536 active cases of which, 170 are in home isolation.

The positivity rate stands at 0.1 per cent here according to data shared by the health department. There are currently 269 containment zones.

A day earlier, as per reports, there were 67,316 tests, that includes 47,021 RT-PCR tests, that were conducted.

The number of new cases recorded on Friday and Saturday were 44 and 72 with a positivity rate of 0.06 per cent and 0.1 per cent respectively. The number of deaths recorded on Friday was 5 and on Saturday, 0.

The second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic had taken a brutal toll on Delhi claiming hundreds of lives. The situation was worsened with the dearth in oxygen supply across the city.

Delhi had reported 28,395 cases of coronavirus on April 20, the highest they logged since the onset of the pandemic in India in 2020. The case positivity rate was highest in the city on April 22 with 36.2 per cent.

They recorded the highest number of deaths on a single day on May 3 with 448 fatalities.

The number of vaccine doses that they have been able to administer so far is 1.06 crore. The count of people who have received both doses of the vaccine is more than 29 lakh according to government data. At the current “rate of vaccine supply” their health department has notified the DDMA that it will be another year before they complete the vaccination of all eligible candidates.
