For the past three weeks, India's daily cases have been hovering around 40,000. However, several areas in the northeast and Kerala have seen an increase in Coronavirus infection, though data from last week suggests that the number of cases in these places is also plateauing.

According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday, India reported 28,204 new Coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, the lowest number in 147 days (since March 16), bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections to 3,19,98,158. Many countries are still having problems with the Delta variation on a global scale. In China's most recent epidemic of Covid-19, additional infections were recorded yesterday. In order to reduce locally transmitted illnesses, many Chinese localities have added rounds of mass testing. Since July 20, the highly infectious Delta strain has been found in more than a dozen Chinese locations.

Local governments have been asked to keep strict track on illnesses and eliminate loopholes in control measures, according to officials. On Monday, the United Kingdom reported 25,161 new coronavirus illnesses.
