India vs England
Wednesday, 18th August 2021
India captain Virat Kohli has scored 44, 13, 0, 42, and 20 runs in his previous five innings on English soil. Kohli has also gone nearly two years without scoring a century in international cricket.
Team India's dominance in the longest format of the game was demonstrated in the magnificent win against England in the second Test at Lord's. The Indian team, which had been trailing in the competition until the penultimate day, turned things around and outfoxed the hosts, who appeared to be in complete control. India won by 151 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
Kohli's poor form, despite India's fantastic run in Test cricket, remains one of the biggest concerns. The Indian captain scored 44, 13, 0, 42, and 20 in the past five innings played on English soil. Kohli has also gone nearly two years without scoring a century in international cricket.

Meanwhile, Kohli's dry spell was discussed by great blaster Sachin Tendulkar. In an interview with PTI, the batting icon explained that form is simply a state of mind and body working in unison.
“Virat is off to a shaky start. Technical faults are caused by the mind, and if you don't get off to a solid start, you'll start worrying about a lot of things. You tend to overcompensate for your motions since your anxiety levels are elevated. When you're not in good form as a batsman, you either go too far across the field or don't move your feet at all.
This is something that happens to everyone. Sachin was cited as stating, "Form is also your state of mind working in sync with your body."
Sachin also lauded the 100-run partnership between Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane on the fourth day of the Lord's Test, which kept India in contention.
“Considering we were virtually 28 for 3 when they came together, they played a critical contribution. We would have been 60 for 5 if we had taken two more fast wickets, and the dynamics would have been radically different. Sachin stated, "They stabilised the innings."
“The goal was for them to do what was best for the team, and they succeeded. While doing so, the rest of the tasks are completed. In a situation like this, you'd prefer all of your batters to contribute, but that's not always possible,” he continued.
