Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)

Major depression (MDD), also called clinical depression, is the most common type of illness. People with this disease experience symptoms throughout the day, no matter what is going on around them. They may have a good job, love their family and children, but are still clinically depressed. Sometimes people don't even get frustrated for obvious reasons, but that doesn't mean their struggles aren't real. Some of the symptoms of clinical depression are:

Any depression that lasts more than two years is called dysthymia or persistent depression (PDD). This is a more chronic form of depression. Long periods of grief can make it difficult for people to carry out daily activities and even strain their relationships with others. As it is long-term depression, the symptoms may get worse.

  • Deep sadness or despair
  • Low self-esteem or low self-esteem

Manic depression, or bipolar disorder

If a person has a manic episode that lasts more than 7 days after a period of depression, they are diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Symptoms may include:

Atypical depression

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Seasonal depression or seasonal affective disorder is an illness that changes with seasonal patterns. A person may feel depressed in a certain season and everything will be fine in another season. The seasonal affective disorder occurs mainly in winter, and as the season progresses, symptoms may worsen. After the season is over, people will be back to normal.
