Hooghly is a beautiful area in West Bengal, named after the beautiful Hooghly River. People often end up talking about Kolkata, but often ignore the beautiful side of Bangladesh. This place is famous for its beautiful ancient temples such as Taraknath Temple, Hangseshwari Temple, Bandel Church, Hooghly Imambara, and Jubilee Bridge.

This is a Shia Muslim assembly hall and a mosque in Hooghly. This is a two-story imambara, very beautiful, decorated with marble and candles. This extraordinary building was built by Muhammad Mohsin in 1841 and completed in 1861. Imambara is famous for its beautiful clock tower hanging over the front door. One can find intricate designs and words in the Quran carved on the wall.
The Hangseshwari Temple is located in the town of Bansberia in the Hooghly district and consecrates the goddess Hangseswari, a form of Maa Kali. This temple is very old, its foundation was laid by Raja Nrisinhadeb Roy Mahasay in December 1799. This temple was finally built in 1814 by his second wife, Rani Sangkari, and is famous for its unique Ratna architecture.

This church, also known as Bandar Church, is one of the oldest Christian churches in West Bengal and was built in 1599. This church is reminiscent of the Portuguese settlement in Bangladesh. This parish church is also one of 23 cathedrals in India.
Antepur is a beautiful village in Hougli, famous for having one of the most famous terracotta warriors in West Bengal. Radhagovindjiu is a 30-meter-high temple that exhibits exquisite terracotta carvings and tells the story of 18 past lives. This temple was built by Krishna Ram Mitra in 1786.
