Suriya is doing a Hindi remake under his production company 2D Entertainment. Shortly after the official announcement, when the producer of Soorarai Pottru's producer, Guneet Monga, filed an application for protection against the Hindi remakes in Madras High Court, the manufacturer faced significant obstacles.

Now, the Madras High Court has heard the case and ruled in favor of Suriya's 2D Entertainment. The court reversed the court order issued to Sikhya Entertainment and ordered the resumption of filming in Hindi. According to reports.

Suriya's lawyers argued that they had paid Sikhya Entertainment a substantial amount to promote the right to the book "Simply Fly" on which Soorarai Pottru was based. Soorarai Pottru is a fictional description of the life of a retired army captain. G. R. Gopinath, who founded the low-cost airline Air Deccan.

Soorarai Pottru is considered one of the best films in Indian cinema. This movie is called Aakasam Nee Haddu Raa in Telugu and Soorarai Pottru in Malayalam and Kannada. Due to the Covid19 pandemic, Soorarai Pottru was released directly on the OTT platform rather than in theaters. However, Soorarai Pottru caused a stir, as she also received praise from the public and critics.

This film was also selected as one of the ten Indian films in the category of Best Foreign Film at the 78th Golden Globe Awards. Soorarai Pottru recently won the Best Picture award at the 2021 Melbourne Indian Film Festival. Suriya also won the Best Actress award for her performance in the film.
