As the IPL season returns to the UAE, Rajasthan Royals Director of Cricket Kumar Sangakkara hopes to see different players from his team emerge as match-winners in different games.

The Royals, who are currently fifth in the IPL points table, will kick off the second leg of the IPL against the Punjab Kings on September 21. Sangakkara said of his players' efforts to make the playoffs, "What I want to see from them is their best efforts - competing as hard and for as long as possible to create opportunities to take games by the scruff of their neck and win them - that's the real key."

"If one player can win us the odd game here and there, different players become match-winners in different games, and that's really what you're looking for in terms of formulating a winning side," he said in a release from RR.

Sangakkara said he stayed in touch with the team during the off-season and received a lot of feedback from the players.
