National Zoological Park, Delhi
National Zoological Park, which opened in 1959 and is located near the Old Fort in Delhi, is a popular weekend destination for both adults and children. The zoo has a wide variety of animals and birds, from the largest cats to the tiniest birds. It was originally known as Delhi Zoo until being renamed The National Zoological Park in 1982 with the goal of making it the country's model zoo. Birds and animals at the Zoological Park live in a setting that resembles their natural home in many respects. The zoo not only gives endangered species a home, but also assists them in breeding in captivity. It also has Asiatic Lion, Royal Bengal Tiger, Brow Antlered Deer, Swamp Deer, Indian rhinoceros, and red jungle fowl Conservation Breeding Programs. They may be able to thrive in the wild again in the future.
Mysore Zoo, Mysore
Mysore Zoo, officially known as the Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, is one of India's oldest and largest zoos, housing hundreds of wild and ferocious creatures. It is notable for its spaciousness, cleanliness, and enormous enclaves designed for exotic species such as elephants, zebras, lions, green anacondas, rhinoceroses, and baboons. It is located 145 kilometres from Oklipuram in Bangalore. The zoo oozes greenery from every pore, providing a superb sight-seeing experience for you and your children. The Karanji Lake, which is located on the zoo's eastern side, is another attraction that will entice your children to return. The zoo is surrounded by the world's largest walk-through aviary. After a long walk through the park, you can relax and lounge by the lake. The best time to visit is early in the morning, when you can hear the birds chirping and see the animals wandering around. The Mysore Zoo is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is closed on Tuesdays.
Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park, Pune
Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park, which is centred on Katraj Lake, opened in 1999 with only a reptile park and a few species of animals. At the zoo, there is an animal orphanage and nursery, as well as adoption services.
Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, Visakhapatanam
Last but not least, the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, is located in the Kambalakonda Reserve Forest.
