This is one of the most sacred Buddhist destinations in India. Here, we can get to see the Bodhi tree, the mighty tree under which Lord Buddha had attained his nirvana or divine enlightenment.
Rajgir happens to be another hallowed Buddhist destination in the country. The first council of the Buddhists was conducted at Rajgir. Lord Buddha is believed to have spent quite some time at Rajgir.
This too is a vital Buddhist destination. You’ll get to see the famed Lion Capital here too. Also, Buddha’s first sermon was delivered at this place.

Lord Buddha is said to have achieved mahaparinirvana at this place. A mammoth statue of the reclining Buddha can be seen here. It also showcases a stupa’s ruins.
This monastery is the world’s 3rd largest monastery constructed between 1680 and 81. It is the country’s most significant monastery.
This monastery is located in the Spiti Valley. It is the oldest in the country and features stunning architecture. Lots of murals and paintings deck the walls of the monastery.
This hilltop stupa houses relics of Lord Buddha at its base. In the wintry months, the stupa turns white completely and looks magnificent.
