Sunrisers Hyderabad ruined Rajasthan Royals' prospects of entering the playoffs with a 7-wicket win in Dubai, thanks to a confident batting performance spearheaded by fifties from Jason Roy and Kane Williamson.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) against Rajasthan Royals (RR) Highlights, IPL 2021: In pursuit of a target of 165, SRH got off to a flying start, scoring 50 in only 4.5 overs thanks to a flurry of boundaries from openers Jason Roy and Wriddhiman Saha (18). After Saha was removed by Mahipal Lomror, SRH reached 63/1 at the end of the Powerplay. Roy continued to deal in boundaries, and he was joined by Kane Williamson, who pushed the run-rate even higher. Roy reached fifty on his debut, but was bowled out for 60 by Chetan Sakariya soon after.

Priyam Garg was then removed by Mustafizur Rahman in exchange for a golden duck. But SRH didn't give up, as Abhishek Sharma (21*) and Williamson (51*) put on a crucial 48-run partnership to help their team to a seven-wicket victory in only 18.3 overs. Sanju Samson had earlier in the day been the star of the first innings, scoring a blistering 82 off only 57 balls to help Rajasthan Royals record 164/5 in 20 overs. In the process, he surpassed Shikhar Dhawan of the Washington Nationals in the ‘Orange Cap' competition, becoming the league's leading run scorer. Yashasvi Jaiswal (36) was RR's second-highest run scorer, with a 56-run partnership with the skipper.

Following his departure, Mahipal Lomror (29*) put up a crucial 84-run stand with his skipper to lead the team above 150 runs. With the bat, Liam Livingstone (4), Riyan Parag (0), and Evin Lewis (6) all failed.
