Gehlot and Pilot to share stage…get the details…
Friday, 8th October 2021
Former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Sachin Pilot said on Thursday that he is going to be around for another fifty years. The words were an apparent jibe at Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, who, a few days ago had asserted that not only will his government get re-elected and come back to power in the next polls, but he will himself be around for another 15 to 20 years.
At an inauguration event of the Rajasthan government’s public outreach programme, PrashahanGaon/Sheheronke Sang on Saturday, Gehlot said, “Mujheabkuch hone walanahinhai. Ab 15 saal se 20 saalmujhekuchnahin hone wala. Abdukhihonaho to hodukhi, mere bas kibaatnahinhai. Mujhekuchnahinhoga (Nothing will happen to me now. For 15-20 years, nothing will happen to me. Now if you want to be sad, be sad, it’s not in my hands. Nothing will happen to me).”Gehlot was referring to a recent angioplasty procedure that he had undergone for a blockage in the artery.
On Thursday, when Sachin Pilot was in attendance at the launch of a book by RasheedKidwai called Bharat kePradhanmantri in Jaipur, he was urged to write a book himself by Pramod Sharma, who runs Grassroot Media Foundation. Sharma went on to say that although he might not be around for much longer, he will ensure that he organizes a similar event for Pilot’s book whenever that is written. To this Pilot said in replied in jest, “Aapchinta mat karo, main 50 saaltakyahan par hoon (Don’t worry, I’ll be here for 50 years).”
The fascinating fact of the matter is that both Pilot and Gehlot are expected to share the stage on Friday in Congress rallies for their candidates of the October 30 bypolls, that was announced on Thursday.
