After defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) by four wickets in the first Qualifier on Sunday, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have qualified for the IPL 2021 final.
With two balls to spare, CSK chased down a challenging 173-run mark, with captain MS Dhoni scoring the winning runs. On 18 deliveries, the skipper stayed undefeated.
Ruturaj Gaikwad led the way with a 50-ball 70, and Robin Uthappa chipped in with a 44-ball 63. In this edition of the IPL, Ruturaj scored 600 runs.
Tom Curran took three wickets for DC, while Anrich Nortje and Avesh Khan each took one.
Earlier, Prithvi Shaw top-scored with a 34-ball 60, while captain Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer each added 51 not out and 37 runs after DC was chosen to bat and reached 172 for 5.
With stats of 2/29, Josh Hazlewood was the pick of the CSK bowlers, while Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, and Moeen Ali each grabbed a wicket.
