Tuesday, 28th April 2020

The medical observers in the United States have come up with a list of new Covid-19 symptoms. These new symptoms are an addition to the existing, known symptoms. CDC or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention which keeps track of disease affecting the world has recently informed people of new Covid-19 symptoms that were not known to us so long. People infected with Coronavirus had been experiencing an extensive range of flu-like symptoms that included dry cough, fever, sore throat, aches, fatigue, nasal congestion, diarrhea and shortness of breath. These symptoms usually showed up within 2 to 14 days post the viral attack. The new Covid-19 symptoms as pointed out by CDC are chills, shivering, headache, muscle ache and loss of the sense of smell or taste. These new symptoms have not been mentioned in WHO’s FAQ website page.

While mentioning the new symptoms, CDC has declared that the listed COVID-19 symptoms are not all-comprehensive and inclusive. Thus, if anyone suspects infection, he or she should immediately see a doctor. This novel virus took its birth in the Wuhan city of China in the month of December 2019 and has progressed to cause a devastating global pandemic. This is a new kind of virus that has not affected humans in the past. Scientists worldwide are involved in research to study the nature of the coronavirus. According to WHO some affected patients may have just mild symptoms and may not even need hospitalization. In this context, it’s worthwhile to quote what WHO says…

‘The WHO says some people become infected but only have very mild symptoms. "Most people (about 80 per cent) recover from the disease without needing hospital treatment. Around 1 out of every five people who gets COVID-19 becomes seriously ill and develops difficulty breathing,"

WHO had informed that aged people and those with underlying medical issues like cardiac problems, asthma, high BP, Diabetes, Cancer are likely to develop serious complications on being attacked by coronavirus.
