A great loss to the film industry

Who can forget the protagonist of Angrezi Medium, Maqbool and Hindi Medium? Irrfan Khan expired on Wednesday in Mumbai. He was suffering from colon infection and was admitted to hospital this week.
In 2018, the actor was diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumor. He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital earlier this week, with an infection in colon.
He had lost his mother three days ago. This talented actor was dubbed as face of India in the West.
His spokesperson said, “It's saddening that this day, we have to bring forward the news of him passing away. Irrfan was a strong soul, someone who fought till the very end and always inspired everyone who came close to him. "Surrounded by his love, his family for whom he most cared about, he left for heaven abode, leaving behind truly a legacy of his own”.
He “fought and fought”, said Director Shoojit Sircar.
A “huge loss for the industry”, declared Onir, a Film director.
Sanjay Suri, producer and director said, “Gone too soon”.
Angrezi Medium was his last movie which had to be released on an OTT platform because of the nationwide lockdown that was announced few days after the release.
Irrfan was given a national award for his dynamic acting in Paan Singh Tomar. His roles in Maqbool and Piku are unforgettable. He has also been recognized worldwide for his roles in Slumdog Millionaire, Life of Pi and Inferno.
