Assam: 3,449 arrested for defying lockdown rules
Penalty of Rs.1.50 crore collected

3,449 people were arrested by Assam police for violating the lockdown and 21,366 vehicles have been seized.
Rs.1.50 crore has been collected as a penalty for those who violated lockdown and 1,585 cases have been filed at various police stations till 29th April across the state.
19,325 two wheelers and 1,719 four wheelers have been seized.
49 people in total have been arrested for spreading false information about the crisis on social media platform. 12 got released on bail.
Drones are being used by district police to keep an eye on people.
So far, 41 cases are reported for coronavirus infection in Assam.
