A group of countries 120 developing countries

PM Modi is going to take part in a summit going to be held by Non-Aligned Movement, on Monday, to fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, as a current chair of NAM, has initiated the meeting and this will be the first ever meeting attended by the Indian Prime Minister, after taking the office in 2014.
PM Narendra Modi had skipped the summit in 2016 and 2019.
“Uniting against Covid-19” will be the political declaration to conclude the online session. The summit will be held in order to attain better coordination among NAM members.
PM Modi will be talking about the measures taken by India to cope up with the crisis and the requirement for the countries of the world to stand together. India has been aiding other countries with medical essentials and medicines.
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and WHO’s Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghevreyesus are to take part in the summit. NAM is a group of 120 developing countries from Asia, Latin America and Africa. President Arif Alvi will be representing Pakistan in the summit.
