Stone pelting in Awantipora

There were many incidents of stone pelting in Awantipora, Pulwama, on Thursday. Restrictions, though were imposed, these incidents took place after the encounter of Reyaz Naikoo, officials reported.
On Wednesday, Naikoo and his troop were eliminated in an encounter in Beighpora, which led to authorities snapping mobile phones and internet services.
As the news about Naikoo’s killing spread, restrictions were imposed in many places, including Srinagar.
Officials said that security forces have been set up in order to maintain peace amid third phase of coronavirus lockdown in Kashmir.
They added that stone pelting incidents have been reported from around Naikoo's native village in Awanitpora, by a group of young people, on Thursday, since morning.
Even on Wednesday, similar events of stone pelting were reported, which left 16 people injured. Four of them had injuries from bullet shots.
